My thesis for the paper is, “Blogging is one of the best tools for expression because it allows an individual to become a better writer, gain influence, and establish a network.” One of the benefits of blogging I mentioned is that that it can help an individual to become a better writer. Darren Rowse mentions that these benefits include discovering my voice, connecting with readers, getting feedback, getting disciplined, and writing faster. This “voice” develops as a blogger writes on a topic while including his own observations, experiences, feelings and unique perspectives. It “makes the consumption of information more personal.” Blogging also helps you to connect with readers, for it allows for the possibility of dialogue between writer and reader. Getting feedback can inspire the blogger to continue pursuing his passion. It forces you to become disciplined because you are accountable to your readers to produce fresh and new material. Inspiration doesn’t necessarily precede good writing; it usually shows up in the middle, as your writing picks up momentum. Self-imposed deadlines also push the blogger to become a faster writer.
