The author in this article discussed the importance of blogging for journalists who are employed and unemployed. He believes that if journalists, especially those who are unemployed, start blogging about a topic they are passionate about, they can increase their readership and build a reputation. In addition, he suggest several blogging sites where novice bloggers can go to find easy-to-use templates. This article is useful for my research paper because the author points out that one way a blogger can increase readership is by promoting his/her blog in various social media places. Furthermore, he encourages one of his journalist friends to be involved in online communities, such as science fiction and anime, to catch the attention of other readers.
