While this might not be considered a conventional “article” I found it incredibly helpful as an starting point for my essay. The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) lays out legal guides for bloggers ranging anywhere from liability to Section 230 Protections. These state that “no provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider.” The remainder of the site outlines laws and resources that apply to student bloggers, adult material, and labor laws in regards to the blogosphere. Ultimately this is a guide for the beginning blogger to let them know what they may or may not be doing wrong. For me, however, it was very influential to have all of the information in front of me in a condensed and easily understood way while also making it personable with the projects the EFF has get out to raise awareness for.
